Network Setup
Nowadays, more and more people are choosing to work from home. If you have two or more computers in your home along with 2 or more employees for your small business, you’ll need a home network setup. This will allow you to run two or more computers along with printers. You’ll be able to share your files, access the internet from all computers and use a printer that is connected to each computer. You can also play TV, videos and digital music.
Setting up a small business network on Windows XP is easier than ever. You can also create a wireless network so that you can use your laptop anywhere within your home or office. We at www.nuaddition.com are here to help you with any questions you might have regarding this necessary feature. Following are instructions on how to set up your home network. The first thing you must do is:
- Connect to the internet. Then you’ll be able, after you are set up, to go online from any computer.
- Choose a network type then purchase your network hardware. You’ll need a wireless network if you want to use a laptop. Otherwise, a wired network is the most secure choice.
- Set up your wireless network. It’s fairly easy. You can choose a network hardware that supports Windows Connect Now technology. Plug in a USB flash drive into the USB port on your computer. Click start, then control panel. Under pick a category, click Network and Internet Connections. On this page click Wireless Set Up Wizard then next. Then create a name. Then on how do you want to set up your network, click use a Flash Drive. Then click next. On Save settings to your flash drive page, in the flash drive list click the drive letter for your USB flash drive. Then next. The Wireless Network Setup Wizard saves your settings to the USB flash drive. Now remove the USB flash drive and plug it into the USB port of your wireless router. Next plug the USB flash drive into the USB port of each computer that you want to add to the network. The device light will flash 3 times.
- Connect your computers running Windows XP and up. Once your network is set up your internet connection will be automatically shared. You can now share files and print documents and send to other computers.
